Union of Metropolitan Areas and Agglomerations of the Czech Republic
The Union of Metropolitan Areas and Agglomerations of the Czech Republic (SO MOA) is a platform of fourteen of the of the Czech Republic’s largest statutory cities. It was established to provide them with a strong and unified voice in promoting their shared interests at both the national and European levels. Its primary objective is to strengthen the role of metropolitan areas and agglomerations in shaping cohesion policy and spatial development. The Union represents Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen, Liberec, Olomouc, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Zlín, Jihlava, Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary and Mladá Boleslav. It advocates for sustainable development of the areas in which the majority of the Czech republic’s population and economic activity are concentrated.
